When I moved out at 18, I didn’t have perfect conditions. I just knew staying wasn’t an option.

I’ve lived like that ever since.

So when it comes to something as simple as bread, I don’t look at “cheap and bad” or “expensive and decent” and pick one.

I make my own.

I don’t have a bread maker. I don’t have a loaf pan. I don’t even have a proper setup.

I mix everything in a stockpot, cover it, put the whole thing in a tied plastic bag, and leave it overnight. The next day, I shape it, let it rise on my stove while the oven heats up, cut a few slits, and bake it.

And somehow… it works.

I’ve used white flour, whole wheat, oats—whatever I have on hand. As long as there’s some gluten in the mix, it comes together.

It’s just yeast, water, salt, sometimes a little sugar. Nothing fancy. No strict measurements.

I’m not even much of a baker. I’m better at cooking than baking, and I still make bread that turns out just fine.

That’s kind of the point.

You don’t need perfect conditions to make something work. You just need to decide you’re not settling for the options in front of you.

Same mindset. Different situation.
